Here we are entering the final quarter of the regular season, and the Pacers are in prime position for a division title, and possibly the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference. Getting that two seed could be key so that the Pacers wouldn’t have to worry about the Miami Heat, who’ll probably end up in the Conference Finals. But first taking care of business in the division starts tomorrow night with the Chicago Bulls. The Pacers have taken two games already in the series, and with a home date tomorrow night on ESPN, how great would it be to pick up that third win over the Bulls. The Bulls who have been the Kings of the Central Division for the past few years. The Pacers get their final two shots at the Bulls this month, and getting this series win could go a long way in capturing the division title.
Also, this month of March, the Pacers will get another crack at the Miami Heat, who haven’t beat the Pacers this season. That loss last month was the last loss the Heat had before rattling off 13 straight wins. This same Pacers team has beat the Heat by double figures in both meetings, so it could be a real boost to the team to get this series win. Sure things will amp up in the playoffs, but the Pacers are still a threat to dethroning the Heat.
The Lakers of Los Angeles make their visit to Indy for a date with the Pacers in mid March, and who knows what kind of team the Lakers will be then. The Pacers have a couple of meetings with potential playoff teams in Atlanta and Boston. I am sure the Pacers will want to take of things against Boston as they haven’t faced each other since the Celtics laid a nice beat down to them. Including a rough Kevin Garnett foul that saw him get ejected. Who knows if there will be any layover from that?
The Hawks are always a tough team for the Pacers to match up with, so it would be great to get a win against them. There are games against the Magic, Cavs, and Sixers that look to be easy wins and should be wins for the Pacers. This month is the time to really make that drive for the finish line. With sixteen games this month, it will be a grueling and challenging time to get to April. But with a great February, the Pacers have put themselves in the driver’s seat for the division. They could lock it up with another impressive month.
What’s your prediction for the Indiana Pacers this month?
