Looks like Paul George isn’t the only Indiana Pacer to be doing something for All Star Weekend, just announced was the field for the Slam Dunk Competition. An interesting name is there in the field, Gerald Green. While his play on the court has been bad for a majority of this season, even to the point, where Orlando Johnson, a rookie, has taken his minutes, Green has provided highlight plays from time to time. He’s a past winner of the Slam Dunk Competition, and is going to be in his hometown, so maybe the hometown love will help him get the crown for Slam Dunk Champ.
I am not sure what to expect from Green, and many will say this competition doesn’t mean much anyways until Lebron James enters it, which is never going to happen. Dwayne Wade even tried to get James in the competition, and he said no. Something about James is afraid to fail, which I think he believes the pressure is too much. What a competitor he is. Even Jordan did the competition. But that’s a whole other blog post.
Good luck to the Pacers’ own Gerald Green for this competition. Maybe him and Paul George can put their heads together for something special to knock it out of the park.
