This article from the Indy Star goes back to the 1987 and what it looked like and what it could have looked like. There’s no denying Reggie Miller was the right choice for the Pacers. But some fans at the time wanted the guy from Indiana University by the name of Steve Alford. The Pacers didn’t pick him and fans were angry about that, but look now and what worked out the best. I don’t even know if Alford had an NBA career, while Reggie Miller played all his career wit the Pacers. Something that who knows will happen anymore in the NBA. He was an All-Star, played in one NBA Finals, had all those playoff moments, and finally gets the Hall of Fame call. Yes, I’d say the Pacers made the best choice that night.

Growing up I thought I would be an athlete, but not being blessed with athletic talent I took to watching it. I remember the days of the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks battling it out in the playoffs. The days of the Indianapolis Colts getting more visitor fans than home fans. Reggie Miller being my favorite Pacer to watch and all the dramatics he would perform. Watching Peyton Manning go through all of his hand gestures just to snap the ball. I'm an Indianapolis sports fan and one that wants to make that known to the world.
