(Celtics Lead Series 3-2)
Now both teams that were down 0-2 have the chance to close out the series in game six at home. What a change of events unfolding. The Boston Celtics did the little things at the end of the game last night to put away the Miami Heat and get one game closer to the NBA Finals. Quite a feat for a team that’s considered at the end of their road.
But if it is the final call for Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen all together for the Celtics, getting to the NBA Finals would be a great goodbye and swan song. But there’s a good future there with Rajon Rondo, who just impresses me each time I see him play. Last night, it was something small, but was pointed out that he tipped an offensive rebound out of Lebron James’ hands into an open shot for three points to one of his guys. How many guys make that play nowadays? He’s really a smart player out there, and someone that you want on your team to lead the way.
Kevin Garnett led the way points wise with 26. Paul Pierce added his own 19 points, and Mickael Pietrus came off the bench to give a boost and add 13 points. Rondo actually had an awful game shooting wise, 3-15, but still put together scoring opportunities for his team with 13 assists.
Now the Celtics head back to Boston with a chance to put away the Heat and make it to the NBA Finals. Can they actually beat the Heat four straight? Or do the Heat come and get control of game six? We’ll find this out tomorrow night.
