On the night, when four teams had a chance to close out their series, only one team did it, that team being the Indiana Pacers. The Sixers, Celtics, and Lakers all blew chances to put away their respective opponents, and now have to play an extra game with another chance to close it out.
Atlanta Hawks 87 Boston Celtics 86 (Celtics Lead 3-2)
Al Horford is back for the Hawks in a big way as he got some crucial baskets down in the late stages of this game. He got 19 points and a huge steal at the end of the game to make sure the Hawks stay alive in this series. Now the series heads back to Boston, where the home crowd should give the Celtics that fuel they need to put away the Hawks.
Chicago Bulls 77 Philadephia 76ers 69 (Sixers Lead 3-2)
In a game that saw a halftime score of Bulls 36 Sixers 25, this one felt like the first team to score 50 points wins. But things got better in the second half, and the Bulls saved themselves from being eliminated. Luol Deng had a good game of 24 points. Carlos Boozer added 19 points, and now the series shifts back to Philadelphia, where who knows what might happen?
Denver Nuggets 102 Los Angeles Lakers 99 (Lakers Lead 3-2)
Someone forgot to tell the Nuggets, everyone is ready to see Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers duke it out in the next round. The Nuggets have put together two wins to keep themselves alive in this series. Even with Kobe Bryant putting up 43 points, the Lakers couldn’t seal the deal in this one. Now they head off to Denver, where they hope to finally put the nail in the coffin on this series, and focus the energy on the next round.
