It took an extra session, but the Pacers got a win in Texas after a short trip down there. Coming off the loss to the Spurs wasn’t sure what team would show up. But this Pacers team did what they needed to do put away the Rockets, and got a win to head back home.
Danny Granger has been on a scoring binge the past couple of nights, and hopefully can continue that streak. Over the past five games, he’s averaged right at 20 points, and take out that “game” in New Jersey, and Granger has been great over that stretch. He even played some defense last night getting the block at the end to prevent Houston from getting a three pointer for the win. It’s important for Granger to get points in the flow of the offense, and lately he’s been doing that.
The Pacers did some work in this game winning 104-102 behind some good shooting right around 45%. They made six three pointers in the game and only missed four free throws. They out rebounded the Rockets by ten, which continues to be a good trend for the Pacers. When they are playing that type of basketball, they look to win. Need more of that smash mouth basketball here in the final month of the season.
No change in playoff positioning for the Pacers as they are a game up on the Atlanta Hawks for fifth place, and two games behind Orlando for third place. There was a jump for the fourth spot as the Celtics, who have won five in a row, leaped up to there. That would be the Pacers opponent if the standings hold.
