Pacers Beat the Nets 93-88 Rapid Reaction

This was the game that the Pacers needed to start fresh, and get a win.  Luckily, they did that…eventually.  Looking in the first quarter, the Pacers got down eleven points, and it wasn’t looking pretty.  Especially since the Nets were shooting over fifty percent.  But that number would cool off.

Both teams were out and running in that first half as the game was tied up at fifty points at half time.  Thinking there, that this would be a tougher game than anticipated.  But the Pacers did rally behind some key guys.

Danny Granger was back after missing last night’s game, and came back in a big way going off for thirty two points on 10-20 shooting.  Great night at the office for Employee #33.  Paul George did a lot of behind the scenes stuff like getting a block or two there, playing great defense, and diving on the floor for loose balls.  Must have been that article our site just posted up today. It motivated Employee #24 to step his game back up in all areas.

The Pacers had other guys in double figures, which is another good sign, this team might be able to turn around this corner of the losing funk.  Granger lead the way with his points, but Roy Hibbert had thirteen points, David West came up with sixteen points, and George had eleven points.

All around a great team effort to win this game.  While Granger was leading the way with his points, Jeff Foster brought some energy with his hustle at times.  Tyler Hansbrough brought some toughness to the game.  Darren Collison was out and running the game looking for teammates.  It was reminiscent of the way the Pacers won the early part of their schedule.

This is the part of the schedule where this Pacers team can string together some wins.  The Nets were a sub .500 team, and the next five opponents are under that same bar.  The Charlotte Bobcats will come to town with their three wins, possibly four if they win before then.  But a win that should happen for the Pacers.  Then the Pacers face the New Orleans Hornets, another team with way under par at only six wins.

The Charlotte Bobcats have another date with the Pacers as this time the Pacers travel there in another should win game.  Must win games are the key to this part of the schedule.

Golden State Warriors make an appearance at Bankers Life Fieldhouse right after the All-Star break, so the Pacers could be looking at a good string of wins.  Life doesn’t get any easier during that time as there’s another game looming with the top team Chicago Bulls.

The Pacers should look at this part of the schedule as must and should win games.  Get that confidence and spark this team had going in the early part of the season.  Get that energy flowing, and the fans will be back around come playoff time as this Pacers team should be playoff bound or this season is a failure.
