Pacers-Hornets Preview: Pacers Host a Tough One

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Preview, NBA, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

Just after facing the Boston Celtics on the road, the Indiana Pacers hope to go 13-14 at home against a tough 16-11 New Orleans Hornets team. However, I think the Pacers will upset. I am going to put it out there just like that, plain and simple. The Pacers are decent at home with a 7-6 record while the Hornets are 5-8 on the road. They have been struggling as of late, however, too. Accu Score predicts the Pacers having a 72-percent chance of winning while New Orleans only has a 28-percent chance. The Hornets have so far lost five [...]

Pacers-Celtics Recap: You Need to Be Near-Perfect To Beat This Team

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Recap, NBA, Pacers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Indiana Pacers were heading to Boston to face on the tough Celtics, who were on a twelve-game winning-streak. I expected an upset since the team did not have Rajon Rondo. But a player put up Rondo-like stats up today, and his name was Paul Pierce. Rondo, you can rest, Pierce has got your back my friend. Pierce lighted it up, putting up a triple-double with 18 points, twelve assists, and ten rebounds. The Celtics had solid ball movement in the game, as Ray Allen piled up six assists. It was a well-played game for the C’s. “That’s the point [...]

At 12-13, the Indiana Pacers are at a good mark towards the ending of the 2010 year. As they enter 2011 for the rest of the NBA season, the playoffs need to be on their mind. And if they do in fact make it to the playoffs, they may face the team they are facing today in Boston, as they take on the Celtics. The Celtics have been rolling with a 21-4 record. Accu Score predicts a 30-percent chance for the Pacers to win while the C’s have a 70-percent chance. But the Pacers may have a chance at winning. [...]

O’Brien Wants Dunleavy to Stay

AUTHOR: | IN: Free Agency, NBA, News, Offseason, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction, Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Mike Dunleavy has done a lot of good for his career with the Indiana Pacers. The team’s guard/forward has returned this season after injury, and has been playing well as he fits great with Jim O’Brien’s system. Dunleavy enters free agency this off-season and O’Brien really wants him to stay. “One hundred percent absolutely (I want Dunleavy back),” O’Brien told The Indianapolis Star. “I would hate not to have an opportunity to have him on our basketball team.” Dunleavy has taken a chunk out of the team’s cap space, with $10.6 million per year. Dunleavy will have to take a [...]

Josh McRoberts Will Stay at Starter

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, News, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction, Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Josh McRoberts has been struggling lately and hasn’t been getting the rebounds like he is supposed to. However, he will not be benched. “I don’t think you want to overreact to the games we played against the Lakers and Chicago; those were really high-quality teams,” head coach Jim O’Brien told The Indianapolis Star. “At the same time, if we don’t get production in a particular lineup, then at some point in time we’ll make a change. I don’t think it warrants it at this particular point.” Jeff Foster, Tyler Hansbrough, or James Posey could be one of McRoberts’ replacements.

Indiana Pacers Preview: Team Faces a Must-Win Game in December

AUTHOR: | IN: Editorials, NBA, Opinion, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

Oftentimes teams with their “backs against the wall” will refer to a big game as a “must -win” game. If they lose this game, it could be all over. In the NBA, games in December really don’t figure into the eventual champion, but for this Indiana franchise, their game tomorrow at home against the Cavs will feel like a must-win game. After the thumping they received from the Lakers at home last night, the Pacers have now dropped six of their last eight games. The only two wins were against the Bobcats and Raptors, two of the worst teams in [...]

Pacers-Lakers Recap: Black Mamba Takes Over

AUTHOR: | IN: Editorials, Game Recap, NBA, Opinion, Pacers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

This was just an awful effort and performance by the Indiana Pacers. They just let the Los Angeles Lakers drive all over them in this game. Indiana was solid at Staples Center when they beat Los Angeles, 95-92. Their celebrating must have really pissed the team off, especially on their court. Now it was the Lakers turn, and led by Kobe “The Black Mamba” Bryant, Los Angeles’ revenge turned out successful in a 109-94 beating. Indiana drops to 11-13, their first time they were two games under .500 for the whole season! But the Pacers shouldn’t worry. The Lakers had [...]

Nets Trade Joe Smith, Terrence Williams to Lakers, Rockets for Sasha Vujacic and Draft Picks

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Opinion, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

When I first looked at the news, I gasped: The Los Angeles Lakers are acquiring Terrence Williams! No way. But it appears that the New Jersey Net’ young stud will be heading to Houston to play with the Rockets in a three-way deal that went down today. Williams was sent to Houston while the Lakers gave up Sasha Vujacic to New Jersey for Joe Smith. The Nets got some draft picks in return. For the Rockets to make room on the roster, they sent Jermaine Williams to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for a second-round draft-pick. “Welcome welcome, to all [...]

Pacers Taking the Spotlight During Tough Two-Week Stretch

AUTHOR: | IN: Editorials, NBA, Opinion, Pacers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

The weather was the most exciting part of the Patriots versus Bears game on Sunday in Chicago. Luckily for the Pacers and Bulls, they will be playing inside the United Center for Monday night’s game in this Central Division showdown. This will be the start to a grueling 15-day schedule that features seven games, against some of the best teams in the league. Of the six teams they will face, at least five of them look like playoff teams. Only the Cavaliers look like a team that might not make it, but stranger things have happened. The Pacers will square [...]
