The Pacers went down to Miami to take on LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. They come back with an impressive “W”. Danny Granger and Brandon Rush each scored 20 points for the Pacers, who improved their overall record to an even 6-6. Granger also had 11 rebounds and six assists, while Rush also recorded seven rebounds and four assists. When you look at the statistics before this match-up, I guess you would say that the Indiana Pacers would get themselves handed by the Miami Heat, led by the solid core of superstars; LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade. But only one of those players could show up in last night’s match-up, and that was no other than James. The Pacers played outstanding defense, along with solid offense. Jim O’Brien wanted to put Darren Collison in the line-up in Saturday’s loss to the Orlando Magic, but then decided to rule him inactive for giving him more time to heal. “We have a situation where it was sore (Saturday), and I can’t afford to be in a situation where he can’t go and I have A.J. Price on the inactive list,” coach Jim O’Brien told The Indianapolis Star. But the team is looking for Collison to play tonight against the Miami Heat. Boy, they are definitely going to need him.

The Pacers do not plan to trade anyone, Pacers’ general manager David Morway told Hoopsworld.com. “We like our team right now,” Morway told the website. “We like the combination next year of our young players and our veteran players. We like the chemistry in our locker room and what we’re building here, so we’re not actively pursuing any trades right now.” Many were expecting trades due to the lack of effort in the power forward position. But with expiring contracts, they look to trade someone soon this year. Just not now.

After facing one tough opponent from Florida, the Pacers now head down to Miami to face the other. The Pacers fell to the Orlando Magic at home on Saturday night in the final seconds. James Posey made a clutch three-pointer with less than a minute to play to give the Pacers an 86-85 lead. Jameer Nelson decided he didn’t want the game to end like that. Nelson got a three-point play of his own, and the Orlando Magic escaped Conseco Fieldhouse with a 90-86 win on Saturday night. The Pacers fought hard in the fourth quarter, but Roy Hibbert’s foul trouble in the second half and the free throw disparity in the game were too much for Indiana to overcome. Both the Orlando Magic and the Indiana Pacers were on a roll at Conseco Fieldhouse last night as the Magic barely squeaked by with a 90-86 victory in the battle of the centers. It was Roy Hibbert versus Dwight Howard, all day, all night. Howard totaled up 25 points and twelve rebound while Hibbert put up 19 points and ten rebounds. Hibbert was dominating Howard throughout the game, but No. 12 would get the revenge towards the end of the match-up. The New Orleans Hornets got a major upgrade in the team’s trade with the Toronto Raptors. After recently acquiring Jerryd Bayless, New Orleans gave him away, sending him off to the Raptors along with Peja Stojakovic for Marcus Banks, Jarrett Jack, and David Andersen. The Hornets, now one of the top contenders in the West, have now put themselves in a better position to be on top.
