Pacers-Kings Preview: Here Comes Tyreke, Sactown
Pacers coverage: Always Miller Time, 8 Points 9 Seconds, Indy Cornrows, Pacers Press, Pacers Gab Kings coverage: Sactown Royalty, Purple Panjandrum, A Royal Pain, Cowbell Kingdom, Kings Gab ——————- The Indiana Pacers have now shown that they can be one of the top teams in the league and beat the top teams in the league. The record may not be all that fancy, holding on to an 8-7 mark, but it’s good enough for Indy. And two big wins have happened, as the Pacers knocked off the two most-hyped teams entering the season: The Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami [...]
Returning from last year’s magical Final Four run, the Butler coaches, team and fans hoped that maybe, just maybe, this year’s team had it in them to make some more noise on the national stage. That confidence, which was rightfully earned, allowed them to go out and schedule tough games like at Louisville, Duke on a neutral site, at Xavier and Stanford at home. However, this team doesn’t seem like it can take on that tough schedule the Butler front office has put ahead of them. Maybe last year’s team could, but this is definitely not last year’s team. The [...]
Some Cool Links from Eight Points, Nine Seconds
Fellow Indiana Pacers blog Eight Points, Nine Seconds shared some interesting links. One was about Rupert, the guy from Survivor, repping the Indiana Pacers. Since I am 13 years old and in eighth grade, I had to share my story on this. This guy came to my school back in 6th grade and he shared a lot of interesting stories for us. Pretty cool guy, none the less. Hoopism passed on this cool word cloud of which player had the most minutes for each team (via 8p9s). Not surprised who has the most amount of minutes: Also, the Pacers are [...]
Colts fans were crushed Sunday night as they were leaving Lucas Oil Stadium. The news wasn’t all bad though, as many fans tuned in to see the Indiana Pacers defeat the Lakers in Los Angeles. Kobe Bryant got his on Sunday night, as he poured in 41 points, but the Pacers were able to outlast the Lakers 95-92. Roy Hibbert led the Pacers with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Danny Granger added 18 for Indiana. In less than a week, the Pacers have beaten the Heat in Miami, and the Lakers in L.A. The Pacers shot just 17 percent (four-of-23) [...]
Pacers-Lakers Recap: They Can Play with Anybody
This came to a big surprise to many fans all over the nation. Even the Indiana Pacers fans. Who would have thought that a rusty team that posted a 32-50 record last season would top over the powerhouse teams over the NBA like the Miami Heat. Who would have thought they would bring a fight to the teams like the Orlando Magic and the San Antonio Spurs? But the surprising of all, who would have thought this new Pacers team could knock off the last year’s world champions, the Los Angeles Lakers? Well, they did. They led throughout the whole [...]
Will Granger Lead Pacers Past Kobe, Lakers?
The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off of a disappointing loss to the comeback kings, the Utah Jazz. The Indiana Pacers are also coming off a loss at home, falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-106 in overtime after having a 14-point lead early in the third quarter. Followed by many turnovers, Indy failed to win the game afterward. The Pacers are now 7-7 as they face the 13-3 Lakers. Indy needs to hope for the best in this game, as they have never won in Staples Center. According to Accu Score, Indiana has a 16-percent chance of winning this [...]
Pack your bags. Last one out of Conseco Fieldhouse, don’t forget to turn off the lights. The Indiana Pacers are headed on a west coast road trip that will really test their young team. It will begin with a contest against the two-time defending NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. The Pacers have never beaten the Lakers at the Staples Center. Their last win against the Lakers in L.A. came at the Great Western Forum in February of 1999, before the Lakers called Staples Center home. Both teams are coming off of heartbreaking losses, as the Pacers fell [...]
Could Iguodala Work in the Big Apple?
Philadelphia 76ers’ wing-man, Andre Iguodala, understands that he may not be with the Sixers for long as they enter their rebuilding mode. They drafted Evan Turner back in June and plan to use him for the long and run and hope he becomes the leader for the team in the near future. And for Iguodala, he could be gone by the time Turner takes control of the team. Right now, the Sixers are struggling and they realize they may want to trade their best player in Iggy. Andre realizes that, too. “I would love to stay in Philadelphia, but if [...]
They Let It Get Away
Kevin Durant really didn’t need to step up all that much in this game. Russell Westbrook already did, way before in this game. But he did need some help in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s comeback victory over the Indiana Pacers, fueling towards a 110-106 thriller in overtime at Conseco Fieldhouse. The Thunder now improve to 11-5 while Indiana falls to 7-7. It was rather just a disappointing loss for the Pacers. The Pacers were up by 14 points in third quarter, but they let a run for the Thunder to let them come back in the game. Indiana had six [...]
Why Stephen Curry Is Better Off at Point Guard
I usually agree with ESPN’s columnist J.A. Adande and his solid work. But for once, I just didn’t agree with him. In Adande’s latest article, he pointed out that Golden State Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry would be much better off at shooting guard, considering that’s mainly what he is a good at in the league. However, I would have to disagree. Adande made some very good points, as it would be tough for Curry to be an All-Star in the NBA considering the other great point guards in the Western conference alone. He already pointed out Chris Paul, Deron [...]
