Home Again in Indiana: Indiana Pacers Beat Philadelphia 76ers in Home Opener

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Recap, News, Pacers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Pacers have played three games as they head into November, and they already have more wins than five NFL teams. Indiana defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in their home opener on Saturday night, 99-86. It was the second win in a row for the Pacers. For the third straight game, coach Jim O’Brien went with the same starting five, and really only used three players from the bench. T.J. Ford, Tyler Hansbrough, and Paul George all played significant minutes. Four of the five starters finished with double figures in scoring, and the fifth (Josh McRoberts) barely missed a double-double, with [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Recap, Opinion, Pacers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

Danny Granger scored 22 points as the Indiana Pacers cruised to a 99-86 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Pacers opened up the season nicely at home in Conseco Fieldhouse, already 1-0 at home. So far, I think they’ll do a lot better on the road, after only winning nine games last season in away games. But today was home, and it was a special night for Pacers fans. This was a good win at home, now let’s see if Indiana can get 40 more of them at home! Darren Collison proved himself last night and showed that he is [...]

Can the Pacers Stop Evan Turner, Andre Iguodala In their Home-Open Versus Sixers?

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Preview, Opinion, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Indiana Pacers have been looking really really good. When I looked at ESPN’s Accuscore predictions, I expected they would favor the Philadelphia 76ers. However, the favored the Pacers in tonight’s home-opener at Conseco Fieldhouse, saying the Pacers have a 76-percent chance of winning. Indiana was able to prove the simulations of Accuscore last night, beating the Charlotte Bobcats with a second-half comeback, cruising towards a 104-101 with Tyler Hasnbrough’s hustle and Danny Granger’s production. Hansbrough is hoping for another big opportunity. If he keeps playing like this, I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins the power forward job over [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Recap, News, Opinion, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

Who are these guys? Indiana Pacers fans watching the Bobcats game Friday night were witness to something that they haven’t seen in years: The Pacers getting a comeback road win in the second half. After trailing at halftime by eight points, the Pacers outscored the Bobcats in the third and fourth quarters, sealing their first win of the season, 104-101. Danny Granger once again fueled the Pacers on the offensive end, as he finished with 33 points before fouling out late in the fourth quarter. Roy Hibbert added 13 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four blocks. Tyler Hansbrough came [...]

Rush’s Option Picked Up

AUTHOR: | IN: News, Pacers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

From ESPN: The Pacers announced Friday that they exercised Brandon Rush‘s team option for the 2011-12 season. Rush is currently serving a five-game suspension for failing three drug tests and there was some speculation the team would decline the option and make him an unrestricted free agent next summer. He is eligible to be activated on Nov. 9 against Denver.

Hater Watch: Pacers Tyler Hansbrough Continues Prove Doubters Wrong

AUTHOR: | IN: Opinion, Pacers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

After he enjoyed such great success at North Carolina, playing for the Tar Heels, many pro scouts never thought Tyler Hansbrough would be talented enough to do anything in the NBA. However, his play in college epitomized the type of player that Larry Bird loves to pick up in the draft: a four-year collegiate athlete who is a proven leader and carried his team on his back. So, they went ahead and took the chance on the North Carolina star. Bird also stated that Hansbrough reminded Bird of himself when he was coming into the NBA. Not only are they [...]

Hansbrough Returns to North Carolina as Pacers Roll, Drop Bobcats 104-101

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Recap, News, Pacers, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

Danny Granger was literally one fire today and just couldn’t be stopped. Neither could Tyler Hansbrough, having one of the best showings of his NBA career, as the Indiana Pacers beat the Charlotte Bobcats 104-101 in Hansbrough’s return to North Carolina. Depending on the fans if they are also strong supporters of the Duke Blue Devils or the North Carolina Tar Heels, Hansbrough received a mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd. Michael Jordan and Larry Bird watched as the teams they managed were going at it back and forth. The Bobcats held the lead for most of the [...]

The Key to the Heat’s Success Relies On Chris Bosh

AUTHOR: | IN: Opinion, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Miami Heat have too much talent. Way too much talent. It’s only been two games and haters have already been criticizing them. Hold on, I hope you can read this well, okay? Ahem….IT”S ONLY BEEN TWO GAMES! Two games! How can you judge so much out of two games! Seriously people, get with the process. You can’t judge a team after only two games! It’s just that simple. I might as well call up Roscoe Dash and give the Heat a new slogan, may be something like, “Rain, rain go away, that’s what all my haters say.” More like, [...]

Pacers Looking for First Win For the Season, Going on the Road to Charlotte

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Preview, Opinion, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

For the Indiana Pacers, things have been going pretty good, I guess. I mean, they gave the San Antonio Spurs a major battle and they really had to fight, unlike some other games Indiana sometimes had against them. But they played very well, including that so called “Big Three” of theirs containing Roy Hibbert, Darren Collison, and Danny Granger; as all of them were very efficient and productive in the season-opener. Their game tonight against the Charlotte Bobcats on the road will not be an easy one. The Bobcats are just coming off a 44-38 performance last season, finally reaching [...]
