AUTHOR: | IN: News, Offseason, Opinion, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

There has been some very exciting news in the past 24 hours. It features progress coming in a possible four-team trade that would send Denver Nuggets’ star small-forward Carmelo Anthony to the New Jersey Nets. Reported by ESPN.com’s NBA Insider Marc Stein, Anthony would end his seven-year career with the Nuggets to move on to the Nets. Other than the Nuggets and Nets, the four-team trade also involves the Charlotte Bobcats and the Utah Jazz, according to the reports made. The Nuggets are hesitant about making this deal, according to the Associated Press. The deal would be Derrick Favors, veteran [...]

Can Mike Dunleavy Be Like What He Was Before?

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Opinion, Pacers, Player Profiles, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

This will most likely be Mike Dunleavy’s last season as an Indiana Pacer, and everyone knows it. He is already wasting a bunch of cap space, which is about $10 million. From judging what he did in the past two seasons, it’s pretty pointless of having him. Dunleavy really needs to step it up this season, then. He will have to make the most of it. If not, he probably won’t be even signed by any team. The 2007-08 season was pretty good from what I saw, as the small forward averaged 19.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in all 82 [...]

The Los Angeles Lakers were having one of the best feel-good moments you could ever have. They just made it to their third straight NBA Finals’ appearance, and were looking to repeat. And what would it make it better than getting it on a hated rival, the Boston Celtics? The revenge on them would be so bittersweet. And for Phil Jackson and his Lakers, it had to happen. And it did. Led by the heroics of Ron Artest in Game Seven and Kobe Bryant doing what he does best, the Lakers would conquer another NBA title and it to a [...]

Can Tyler Hansbrough Prove Himself This Season?

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Opinion, Pacers, Player Profiles, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Tyler Hansbrough was already considered a bust, just from his rookie season. Entering his sophomore season, Hansbrough has big duties and huge shoes to fill. Hansbrough has gone from being a backup power-forward, to a hoping-breakout player and starting power forward. I’d rather take Hansbrough starting at power forward along with having James Posey and Darren Collison then just having plain old Troy Murphy, who is now with the New Jersey Nets. Speaking of Murphy, he could be traded again with the Carmelo Anthony rumors of him going to the Nets in a four-team trade. Murphy could be shipped off [...]

Most Hyped NBA Season since…

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Opinion, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

Mark Stein at ESPN is reporting a deal that would send Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey is heating up. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5610989 We will have to wait and see how this plays out, but the point I want to look at is the anticipation we have coming into this NBA season. The entire offseason of the NBA has been eventful and intriguing. If Carmelo leaves, honestly even if he doesn’t, we’re looking at the most hyped season of basketball since….I don’t know. 1996 certainly came with a lot of hype with Jordan coming back to the Bulls for a full season after [...]

Bulls Top Carmelo’s Wish List

AUTHOR: | IN: News, Offseason, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Chicago Bulls could be one stop away from becoming one of the most dominant teams in the NBA. They could be right up there with the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers. And all it takes is one deal, and that is for current Denver Nuggets’ small forward Carmelo Anthony. Melo made his wish list of what teams he would like to go to. Currently, the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls top his list. However, the Nuggets say that the Bulls are a 1A, while the Big Apple is at 1B. Chi-Town it is? I guess [...]

Is James Posey the Hidden Key to a Larry O’Brien Trophy?

AUTHOR: | IN: Free Agency, Offseason, Opinion, Pacers, Player Profiles, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

In the National Football League, there have been many trends. There’s a trend that when an important superstar player leaves his team, that team win the Super Bowl the next year. This has happened to such folks like Plaxico Burress leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers, Edgerrin James leaving the Indianapolis Colts, Tiki Barber leaving the New York Giants, and so on. Well there is another trend, which involves a player by the name of James Posey. It seems that every time Posey joins a new team, that team will win an NBA championship. For example, take a look at the Miami [...]

Will Brandon Rush Be the Burst of Energy of the Bench?

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Opinion, Pacers, Player Profiles, Police Blotter, Popular, Preview/Prediction | COMMENTS: None Yet

Despite of his recent suspension, Brandon Rush will definitely get a lot of playing time this season. And I have heard a lot of good things from him in this year’s NBA off-season. According to newly-acquired point guard, Darren Collison, he says that Rush has been doing very well and likes passing to him. He also said a lot of other things. And I heard something that really made me happy and makes look even more forward to this year for the Indiana Pacers. It was Rush’s consistency. Rush sometimes has some really good nights where he is truly unstoppable, [...]

New Household Names: Five NBA Players Ready For a Breakout Season This Year

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Opinion, Pacers, Popular, Preview/Prediction, Rankings/List | COMMENTS: None Yet

BY CHAD SMITH Every year there are certain players that jump out at you. You didn’t really know much about them before the season started, but by Christmas, you keep them on your radar. Who would have thought that Darren Collison could have stepped in to fill the void when CP3 went down? Who knew when Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili got hurt that George Hill would be such a valuable weapon? This year will be no different. Some of you may already know the names on this list, but in a few months, everyone will know their names. Just [...]
