The beauty of the NBA offseason is that you never lose. I am an overly optimistic type and I take anything I can get and just run with it. Yesterday (Thursday) was a long day. I woke up in the morning with big expectations. Something was finally going to happen. As a Pacers fan, we have had nothing to get excited about since the season ended, but the last month has brought a new energy. Every day almost we heard a new potential deal that the Pacers were working on which would bring something new to this desperate franchise. Join the forum discussion on this post

The Pacers have taken Paul George from Fresno St with the 10th pick in the draft. He is a high upside guy, who is long athletic and has good range. The Pacers are now deep at the wing and are still looking for an answer at the point.

As we all know, the NBA Draft is today. Here are some quick thoughts from me:

We have finally arrived. The NBA Draft is tonight, and we are guaranteed to see some changes happen with our Pacers. Honestly I’m jittery just waiting to find out what happens. Rumors keep popping up, and it seems the Pacers have discussed a trade with almost every team in the league. Chances are, if the Pacers get a deal done, we won’t find out until during the draft tonight, because most trades depend on certain players being available at certain slots in the draft.

Apparently the Pacers and Wolves aren’t done talking about making a move which would put Jonny Flynn in Pacers uniform. Stay tuned

The Pacers’ roster is exactly the same today as it was when their season ended a few months ago, but they certainly haven’t been quiet. We fans have been able to entertain ourselves with all kinds of possibilities thanks to rumors that have been surfacing every few days. It appears the Pacers are talking to anyone and everyone, and almost anything is in play. The rumor today is that the Pacers were hoping to deal the 10th pick to Minnesota for point guard Jonny Flynn.
