More trouble has been coming for former Pacers’ player Shawne Williams. As I recall, he is probably one of the worst picks in Pacers’ draft history. Larry Bird even recalls that it was a mistake picking him up.
Williams continues to be in trouble with the law. Now he has done it again.
He was pleaded guilty to four drug charges and was on judicial diversion on October 1, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
The 24-year-old has most recently played with the New Jersey Nets. Williams has been very productive in his NBA career. Last season, he put up 2.8 PPG and 3.1 RPG for the Nets.
He has 5.2 PPG and 2.8 RPG for his career. Yikes, I know.
Williams has also played with the Mavericks as well. Williams is currently a free agent and is looking to start training during the offseason and looks to return to the NBA.
“He’ll be playing summer leagues and doing tryouts,” Manis said. “He’s trying to get back in the league.”
Although people wish the worst for him and hate on him, I hope him all the best even though he has caused some trouble towards the franchise. I wish luck to the guy. I actually kinda feel sad for him. Oh well, all the best.
I think we’ll most probably see him start off in the D-League maybe. But I think some team might pick him up in the NBA, you never know.
But yeah, that’s Shawne Williams for right now, folks.
