Fantasies: Kevin Durant

AUTHOR: | IN: Pacers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Ah, wouldn’t the Pacers fan love it? Kevin Durant on the team. Oh my, that would just be so swell. He won’t look so bad in that No. 35, Blue and Gold jersey. Just imagine if the Pacers somehow acquired him and he was on the team today, right now. This is what I call, Indiana Pacers Fantasies. Let’s begin. Durant would have probably one of the Top 10 best-selling jerseys. Indiana’s fanbase would be crowded just to see Durant, Granger, and Hibbert tear it up on opponents’ defenses. It would just be a fantastic scene to imagine. It would [...]

T.J. Ford Re-Signs: What Could This Mean For The Pacers?

AUTHOR: | IN: News, Offseason | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

During this off-season, point guard T.J. Ford was given a player option to leave or stay with the Indiana Pacers. After an improvement during the second-half of the NBA season, Ford has now decided to stay in Indy; according to his agent. Ford joined the Pacers two years go in a trade involving the Raptors as the Pacers traded away star (now injury-prone) PF Jermaine O’Neal for the point guard. Ah, it seems like it was just yesterday. Okay, yeah, I know: realisticly I don’t think so. Back to the news. In his first season with Indy, he did well. [...]

Early Predictions: 2011 Indiana Pacers

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Written by Nick Huffman Also seen at Nick from Naptown My favorite thing to do is make well thought out guesses on future outcomes.  Of course the best time for that is March during the college basketball tournament, heck yea.  You never know when the moment will present itself and you get to say, “Ha.  I  told you so.” Now the offseason for the Indiana Pacers is here, and I’m starting to make simple mental projections on possible increases of success.  It is fun to play around and sort of simulate what could happen, and then go as far as [...]

Superstardom: It Is Now The Time For Danny Granger To Be an Elite Player

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Playoffs | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Most Improved Player award. 36.2 minutes per game. 25.8 PPG and 5.1 RPG. All-Star. All those stats above were just one of the few great notables small forward Danny Granger put up during the 2008-09 NBA season. Granger started to emerge after the 2007-08 season, though, but the ’08 year was when he really emerged and made himself the leader of this Pacers’ young squad. When the 2009-10 season hit, we were expecting something big from No. 33. With another No. 33 as the owner of the team, Granger look to satisfy him and the rest of the Pacers’ staff [...]

Black, White, Red, Yellow, Or Purple

AUTHOR: | IN: Pacers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Of all the elements of basketball which get me excited, cultural and social implications are pretty low on the list. I am primarily interested with what take place on court. Over the past few weeks, however, an issue has been building which is causing me to put on my “sociologist hat” today. With the Indiana Pacers not participating in the playoffs, the attention of the fans (myself included) has turned mostly to draft recommendations and prognostications. Unfortunately, I have seen some really disturbing posts around the internets referrencing a perceived racist bent by the Pacers front office. A few examples: [...]

Why the Pacers Won’t, and Shouldn’t, Draft Gordon Hayward

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Ever since Butler’s PF Gordon Hayward declared for the NBA Draft, a lot of rumors have been heating up that the Indiana Pacers will pick him up. Oh really? First of all, Hayward is projected as the 14th overall pick in the draft. Though the Pacers are projected as the tenth overall pick, it doesn’t mean they can’t get him, it’s just that they shouldn’t. People have been talking about this is because he is from Indiana and all of that. I know that, and he has talent, but the Pacers are looking to draft differently now. I’d like a [...]

Quit Dreaming: D-Wade Ain’t Leavin’ the Miami Heat

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Playoffs | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

Why do people keep thinking that Dwyane Wade will be leaving the Miami Heat? I mean, seriously, come on! Wade has done so much for the Heat and won the Finals with them. He won’t leave the Heat. He’s been making the playoffs with this team recently and is building a new team here with new weapons. First of all, there was only one bad season for this Miami team recently, which was just a few seasons ago where they only won like ten games. The Heat have been rollin’ since then. And Wade has been the leader of the [...]

I Agree With Granger, The Pacers Are Headed Towards The Right Direction

AUTHOR: | IN: Offseason, Playoffs | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Pacers finished this NBA season with a record of 32-50. Though they did not make the playoffs for the fourth straight season, the Pacers had a good run at the end of the season; winning more than 90 percent of their last twelve games. Indiana retained Jim O’Brien, who hasn’t brought a single winning season to the franchise. But Larry Bird is giving him last chance. If O’Brien fails to reach the postseason, the Pacers will indeed fire him. So O’Brien is looking to come up with new plans and schemes, fixing up the lineup, and just changing a [...]
