Game #53 Preview vs. Spurs
Let’s hope for the best. That’s all I can say. We know what happened last time. But All-Star break is over. No one from the Blue and Gold were part of that weekend so Indy was focused on the next 30 games. At least, we hope. Oh well, we’ll see what happens, right? That’s right! With a good thumbs up!
Miller Lite
Okay not the drink people. I really have no idea why I named the title that. Oh well, who cares. Here’s a nice pic of Miller from the 1990 All-Star Weekend via Fat Shawn Kemp:
Is It Time To Say Goodbye to the Top 25 Poll?
By Always Miller Time’s contributor, Chad Smith The new NCAA Basketball ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll came out today, and there were some big shakeups. After examining the rankings from last week to this week, I asked myself, “What’s the point of these things?” Kansas and Kentucky both remained first and second respectively, and Villanova moved up from number five to number three with a big win at West Virginia and a win over Providence. Purdue beat Michigan State on the road, then defeated Iowa to jump from six to four. Syracuse won the rematch with UConn, but then lost a [...]
Believe it, Gerald Wallace Is Better than Dirk Nowitzki
By Chad Smith Normally I don’t get into the “Who is better” conversation, but after a recent article involving the words “Dirk” and “overrated”, I feel there are still some people that don’t quite get it. Let’s first establish the fact that I am a Pacers fan who realizes that Danny Granger is a bit overrated, which I have talked about in two recent articles. I have no emotion involved in the opinions that I express: I just look at the facts. There has been a lot of talk, with the All-Star game in Dallas this weekend, that Dirk (a [...]
Murphy Still Could Be Headed Off
According to the L.A. Times, if the Amare deal fails for the Cavaliers, the Murphy deal may still be intact: If Cleveland and Phoenix are unable to work out a deal, the Cavaliers reportedly have agreed to acquire Indiana forward Troy Murphy for Ilgauskas and Hickson. The team that picks up Ilgauskas would probably waive him, allowing him to go back to Cleveland in 30 days while providing salary-cap relief. I wouldn’t mind having this trade. It would work out well. Hickson has been very impressive so far. He could be used as a great backup and the Pacers know [...]
I Would Love This
Bird Wants Pacers To Remain Patient
Larry Bird is telling Pacers fans to stick with Indy though with them struggling. Indiana now stands at 18-34. Bird says the team will go heavy into the offseason after their freeing of cap space. “We knew that we had to clean it out and rebuild it, and we knew we were going to go through some tough times,” Bird told The Associated Press this week. “Nobody likes to lose, and everybody wants to be a part of a winner. We think we’re on the right track to get there.” The Pacers are under Jim O’Brien, who has not yet [...]
Kings Interested In Troy Murphy?
Here is what the Sacramento Bee says: As of my last trade blog post, I hadn’t been told that the notion of Indiana-forward-Troy Murphy-to-the-Kings was legit. That has changed, however, as sources close to the Pacers say there is significant Kings interest in the 29-year-old forward. It’s interesting, really. There’s a possible chance of getting Kevin Martin, and you know how great that would be, eh? But there is also a chance of not getting Murphy either. According to the source, it says that Indy most probably would receive Kenny Thomas. The person I’d like would be Jason Thompson. But [...]
Danny Granger Playing for Team USA…Not a Good Idea
Written by AMT Contributor, Chad Smith I am in no way an NBA Scout and don’t claim to be one. I am just a fan of the game, and like everyone else, I have my own personal opinion about players in the league. As a life long fan of the Indiana Pacers, I feel I have a better understanding of the players on the team, as I watch them almost every game. Who’s to say I know anything about Danny Granger? I think most people would agree that Granger has definitely become a very good player in the league. Leading [...]
Guest Post: We Need Defense
By Adam Faulkener aka The Incredible Faulk In thinking about Levy2725′s post about ways to go about changing the Pacers in a more reasonable way other than “blowing up the team” or “getting lucky” in the draft, a few thoughts came to mind. Jim O’Brien is an offensive-minded, shoot the three to set up the post, get as many attempts as possible kind of a coach. He’s all about fast play. Under O’Brien, the Pacers have consistently been in the top of the league in offensive pace. This season, they are getting more attempts at shots than all but one [...]
