Things were not looking good when great players on the Pacers’ roster were coming towards the bench.
Then, it got worse.
The best player on the team, and one of the bests in the NBA alone right now, Danny Granger was walking to the bench, watching his team play after getting fouled out with much time to play.
This was not good. Just horrible. How could they win? But they probably had hope. If T.J. Ford can make something out of this, Indy can get this all settled.
They did. And they didn’t make it look that hard, either.
Ford had 16 points, with eight of them in the final three minutes.
“That has to be the signature of our team, that regardless of what we’re doing on the offensive end, we can always stop you on the defensive end, and we did that tonight,” Granger said.
Not many people think that the Pacers can control on defense. Well, they can. Dahntay Jones played a great game, and has really been a strong contributor to the team, as he put up 19 scores with twelve boards.
“I’m happy things worked that we’ve been working on for the past couple of weeks and to know that our defense can anchor us,” said Jones.. “We were communicating and getting stops and trying to dig out rebounds.”
It’s good Indy acquired Jones, who is a very well-know defensive playmaker.
Brandon Rush, who is known to be Granger’s sidekick pretty much from last season, had twelve points and ten rebounds, even without playing with his partner in crime.
It was a great game overall. Roy Hibbert was impressive and put up 14 rebounds.
The Knicks played well also with David Lee’s 20 points and 19 rebounds. Al Harrington had 22. Looks like in my prediction, I was way off! I though it’d be 107-102.
The Pacers hope to be strong in their battle next week.
I think they will.
